My husband and I got our first springer spaniel in 1992.  We had enjoyed hunting over springers at a local hunt club and when we had an opportunity to buy a field bred spaniel pup we didn’t hesitate.  We joined a local  springer spaniel club and started entering hunt tests and about a year later started competing in field trials.  The springer “hobby” has turned into a passion and I now compete in All-Age and puppy stakes in the United States and Canada.   I have earned FC, AFC and Master Hunter titles with many of my dogs and have also been fortunate enough to have earned a placement in a Canadian National Championship and Certificates of Merit in two US National Amateur Championships.

I began judging field trials in 2001 and have judged in each of the five interclubs in the US as well as in Canada.  I have also judged cocker trials and hunt tests.  I believe that I am a very positive judge and am always rooting for the dog to succeed.   In addition to judging, training and competing I also participate in the sport as a marshal, bird planter, trial secretary, trial chairman and occasional gunner.

I am honored to have been selected as judge for this National Amateur Championship and am also pleased to be able to judge with my good friend Don Bramwell.   I look forward to walking the wonderful fields in Nebraska and watching the best dogs in the country.   It doesn’t get much better than that.

I wish all of the participants the best of luck in this championship trial.
