VI.    Announcement of Judges for the 2009 National Open -  Jerry Barrett and Bill Cosgrove

VIII.    Presentation and Acceptance of Location of 2009 National Open - Steve Beyer of the Rocky Mountain IC, presented starting the trial Sunday, November 29 in Mayetta, Kansas (NE Kansas).  Field trial chairman Bill Willett.  Secretary/Treasurer Mhari Peschel.  Gun Captain John Knowles.  Grounds - Marty Knibbs.  The headquarters to be The Prairie Band Potawatomi Casino and Resort.  Climate: The average seasonal temperatures are 25 to 45 degrees.
Airports include Topeka (20 miles) and Kansas City (85 miles).   2009 both of the Nationals will be in the central part of the US so they moved dates for the trials closer to allow trialers to attend both (proposed Dec 7th NAC start date).
      Discussion included the drawback long distance trialers of traveling on Thanksgiving.  The later start date will  allow more clubs to have their trial in the qualification period and avoid the hot September trials.
      A day later start, Monday, November 30, was approved.
IX.    Qualification for 2009 National Open - 2 Points.  Qualification dates to remain the same:  18 prior to the start date (Nov 12) for all qualified dogs, 11 days prior to the start date (Nov 19) ONLY for late qualifiers.           
X.    Entry Fees for 2009 National Open - $200
XI.    Report of Land Task Force
XII.    Set date and time for 2009 Annual Meeting  - Sunday, Novembe 29 at 3:00 pm with the option to move it to 1:00 pm if the number of discussion items dictates a longer meeting
XIII.   Other Business
         1.      Discussion of Judge selection procedure - The idea of adopting the same method as the NAC (each club votes on the judges) was discussed.  Methods of changing the bylaws was discussed to facilitate this idea.  It was resolved to discuss it and then, if changes are to be made, clubs could submit written proposals to Mhari at least 60 days prior to the next meeting.  This would allow Mhari to notify the clubs in writing about the possibility of a bylaw change.
XIV.   Field Trial Chairman’s Presentation - Roger Schenone announced we would caravan tomorrow leaving at 6:30 am, lunch is available, we will stop at 5:00 pm.  There will be three courses each 17 flags long.  Two scratches for a start of 115 dogs.  Dan Lussen will cochair the field.
