Callbacks

Friday, December 6 - 4:30 PST Placements will be at 6:30 PST  We will cover them live!
3:00  PST - Fifth Series Callbacks!!!  25 to the fifth!
The fourth series finished shortly after 8:00.  We caravaned for more than one hour to the fifth series grounds.  The fifth series had more breathtaking scenery views and was 21 flags long.  The course had plently of sage and some mixed vegitation.  The fifth series started about 10:00 and finished about 1:00.  We caravan back to Chelan for the water series.  The water series (23 dogs) started about 2:30.  As soon as we know what time the placements will be we will let you know. 
Fri - 4:30 am PST  The forecast is for sunny and a high of 31 with north winds between 8 and 13.  Another very cool day.  The fourth series grounds are more than a half hour from the hotel.  The fifth series ground we hear are 15 to 20 miles from the fourth going away from the hotel.  We will travel with the caravan to the fifth series grounds.  I may not be able to post fifth series callbacks until they go to the water.  If I get lost out here I'm not sure if anyone would ever find me on this dessert type plateau.  Thanks for your patience.  If I knew I had coverage on my cell phone (which I have not had at the fields) I would give you all my cell number. 
Thursday, December 5, 5:20 PST  The last two dogs to run were number 100 and 79.  We will start with dogs 103 and 83 at 7:30 am Friday
Thurs 4:00 PST - 31 Dogs back to the 4th!!!  We finished the third series about 1:00.  The callbacks for the fourth came about 2:15 and we immediately started the fourth series.  The dogs are getting two contacts in the fourth.  The weather was cooler, in the 30's, with a slight breeze and overcast.  We are using the same field with a slight change in the course.
Wednesday, December 4 - 5:15 PST  The last dog to run was number 55.  We will start at 7:30 am with dogs 56 and 57.
Wed, Dec 4 - 3:30 pm PST  Third series callbacks!  70 dogs back!  It was a perfect day for trialing, esp. after the past two days.  Sunshine with a light breeze in the 30's and 40's.  The roads are good at last.  We finished the second series about 11:30 PST, got callbacks at 12:45 PST and started the third series about 1:15.  The third and fourth series course is just across the road.  It is a long course with thicker, heavier and taller cover.  It is difficult for the handlers to see their dogs.  Approximately 14 dogs ran on the first course.  The judges are keeping most of the dogs down for three contacts. 
Tuesday, December 3 - 5:30 PM PST  I believe the last dogs to run were 71 under McGagh and 64 under Nelson.  It was necessary for the marshalls to do a fair amount of juggling today.  The first dogs to run in the morning will be 73 under McGagh and 66 under Nelson.  The remaining second series callbacks will be available at the Western Interclub Soiree tonight at 7:00.  We had a sunny day (30's to 50 degrees!) that melted most of the remainig snow although the winds gusted strongly at times.  We completed the first series appoximately 10:30.  We took a short break and started the second series.  We are using the same course but using it in the reverse direction for the second series.  Callbacks as soon as we get them.
Monday, December 2,  10:30 PM  Partial callbacks were given at the banquet along with the Pro Plan High Point Amateur and Puppy awards.  Also the first time handler pins and the LASHA award.  Hopefully tomorrow we can get some of the photos ready to post.  Thanks for your patience.
Monday, December 2, 5:20 PM  We had a very long oblong course with more than 80 flags that took three hours to complete.
The cover was variable.  It rained most of the day with peaks of sun in the 30's.  We completed dog number 91.  More tonight after the banquet.
Monday, December 2 - 5:30 AM (PST)  The caravan will be leaving early to the grounds to accomodate for the weather.  It is warm enough to be melting the snow.  It sounds like rain as it melts off the hotel.  Rain, windy and 41 for a high in the forecast.  Due to the weather conditions we will be posting new information tonight after the trial wraps up for today.
