Saturday, December 9, 2:00 pm  The weather was as forecasted.  Scenting was good.  The field were woody, wicked and challenging.  We started at 8:45 and finished about 12:30.  We are now at the hotel waiting for placements.  Nadine and I will be leaving for home as soon as we post placements.  We will post more pictures when we get home.
Saturday 6:00 am  The weather is forecasted to be sunny and mild (mid 20's to mid 40's) with a light breeze.  Perfect dog weather.
Friday, December 8,   22 back to the fifth.  Start time 8:00 am.
Friday 4:45 pm  Nadine called to let us know the water series has been completed.

Recently the Mideast Interclub lost two members to due Heart Attacks. Monty Kayes come with the idea to have a charity trial to be held the last weekend in January 2007. Plans are being made as I write. Friday  2:15  Nadine just called from the field.  24 dogs back to the water.  The water series will be run (swam) this afternoon and the fifth series will be run in the morning.  I will mark the callbacks in the water series column as that will be going on now and update the fifth series callbacks tonight after the water series.
Friday, 1:00 pm The fourth series wrapped up about noon.  We are moving to the fifth series grounds and/or water series back near the first and second series grounds.  I am at the hotel waiting for fifth series callbacks to share with you.  It was warmer today and sunny although the breeze was still brisk.  We had mosting crossing winds with a slight up/down twist. 
Thursday, December 7, 5:30 pm The howling winds of 2:00 am (dog and handler potty break) have subsided to a face-numbing breeze in the predawn start of day four.  The winds were moderate and brisk all day long.  The winds changed from time to time but for the most part we had a crosswind and decent scenting.  We finished the third at about 2:30 pm.  We got the fourth series callbacks just after 4:00 pm.  43 dogs back to the fourth.
Thursday, 4:30 am  Our pleasant fall days are just a memory now.  Winter has descended on us overnight.  The winds howl and the temps have plunged into the teens with only mid twenties expected for highs.  The sun is expected to remain faithful so we will continue to use our sunscreen.  (Don't you love when I get up early and use my dictionary :-)) I will probably not have a midday update again today but I will share the fourth series callbacks as soon as possible.
Wednesday, December 6, 6:00 pm  It was sunny and warmer (mid 30's to mid 50's) today with a light to moderate breeze.  We had all winds again on the horseshoe, upwind, crossing and downwind but the scenting was probably the best we have had all week.  The second series wrapped up about 2:00 pm.  We moved to the new grounds more than 20 miles away.  The callbacks for the third series were given just after 4:00 pm.  87 dogs back.  The course is about 20 flags out and 20 flags back.  They are up and downwind courses today.  The cover is waist high mix of brome, bluestem and other prairie grasses.  A beautiful field.  We finished at 5:20.   We will start on Thursday with dogs 34 and 35 at 7:30.  (yawn)
Tuesday, December 5, 8:45 pm  The second series finished at dark.  Tomorrow we will start with dog 50 under Lindsay and dog 58 under Hopkins.
Tuesday 3:00 pm  The first series was completed at 1:00.  116 dogs back to the second series.  After a short break we started the second series on the same course but we change the direction.  We were rotating on the horseshoe and connecting leg clockwise now we are going counter clockwise.  The conditions are similar to yesterday with a little more breeze and perhaps a little warmer.
Monday, December 4, 10:00 pm Callbacks through 104 for the second series (77 of 104)
6:20 pm  We finished about 5:30 with dog 104.  Dog 105 will start at 7:30 am.

Monday 1:00 pm- We started at 8:00 am (CST). The breeze with temps in the 20's was bone chilling.
By noon it was almost 50 with a moderate breeze.  The scenting leaves something to be desired but it is not bad.  The cover is native prairie grasses interspersed with sand plum bushes, some switch, sorghum and a couple patches of sticky briars.  (Thanks to the gallery for helping us with the adjectives.) The course is a large horseshoe which we were able to complete about 12 dogs on the first round.
They were just calling dog 50 to the line at 12:30.

DATE:  December 6, 2006

Pursuant to Item 2.a.(ii)(c) of the ESSFTA Board Resolutions on National Amateur, "Determination of the dates and general location of the Championship Field Trial each year" must be voted upon by the delegates of the sponsoring clubs.  A the December 3, 2006, Delegates Meeting the delegates failed to vote to determine the dates and general location of the Championship Field Trial for 2007.  Therefore, this correspondence shall constitute the polling (via mail) by the Committee of all incumbent Sponsoring Clubs (i.e., all Clubs that duly paid the sponsorig fee at or prior to the immediately preceding annual meeting of Sponsoring Clubs' delegates) to establish the dates and general location of such championship field trial. 

The question to the delegates is :  To set the date for the starting date of the 2007 National Amateur Championship on December 3, 2007 and to hold the 2007 National Amateur Championship generally in the location of Moses Lake, WA.
