Amateur Meeting Click here to view or print in MS word The annual meeting of the English Springer Spaniel 2004 National Amateur Championship was held December 6, 2004, at 5:00 p.m. at the Rend Lake Resort, Pickneyville, Illinois. General Chairman Doug Miller called the meeting to order. Secretary Patricia Bramwell took the roll call. There were 53 delegates present and 54 clubs that had paid their dues. Motion was made by Dean Reinke and seconded that the 2003 NAC minutes and treasures report be accepted. Carried. Chairman Miller gave special instructions for the trial grounds – specifically no ATV’s, except the bird planter and the grounds crew, would be allowed on the grounds. Motion was made by Dean Reinke and seconded that the 2005 club dues remain at $75.00 per club. Carried. Jim Boone announced that the 2005 NAC would begin November 15, 2005, close to Altoona, PA, which is the same grounds as last years Open. Training would be November 14. A motion was made by Ed Faraci and seconded that these dates and grounds be approved. Carried. A motion was made by Dean Reinke and seconded to change the qualification points. He suggested 3 points if not AFC and/or FC and 1 point if AFC and/or FC. Motion did not carry. A motion was made by Ed Faraci and seconded to keep the points at 1. There was a lot of discussion on why we should and should not keep the points as they are. Carried. A motion was made by Ed Faraci and seconded to keep the entry fee at $200.00. Carried. Bob Iversen gave an update on the Financial Committee. He said that it looks like we have a fairly accurate comparison for the past 3 years. He would like to suggest a budget be submitted each year, as it is called for in the by-laws. Jim Boone would like to see year-to-year banquet and motel attendees. Secretary Bramwell said she would start keeping better track of the banquet attendees and would try to remember to ask the motel each year to provide her with a number of rooms rented each night. Bev Matthews updated us on the IMS program. She said they were now hoping for a 5-6 month time frame to be up and running. Ed Faraci suggested we think about voting for judges that have been running dogs and suggested 4 All-Age stakes in 2 years. There was no motion nor much more discussion. Field Trial Chair Bob Mueller gave update on tomorrow’s start. He said a caravan would leave at 6:30 a.m. The lodge has indicated they would open at 6 a.m. for breakfast for us. The lunch wagon would be on the grounds at 9 a.m. to serve breakfast. Dr Winners will be “on call” all week. Bob wished his wife, Sharon, Happy Birthday!
